Privacy policy
Last updated September 28, 2026
This policy describes what Pioneer Data Analytics, LLC ("Pioneer," "we") collects through Pioneer Pennant and what we do with it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a coaching app, your charted data belongs to you, we sell nothing to anyone, and athlete data is handled with the care minors' information deserves.
1. What we collect
Account data. Your email address, subscription status, and sign-in tokens. Payments are processed by Stripe; we receive subscription status and never see card numbers.
Charted data. What you record in the app: pitchers, pitches, locations, at-bat results, opponent lineups and tendencies, scores, and notes. This routinely includes athlete names, jersey numbers, and performance data, including minors', all entered by the adult account holder.
Imported data. Game data you import from third-party sources (such as GameChanger exports) to build opponent books.
Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, timestamps, requests) kept for security and debugging. The marketing site and app do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share data for advertising.
Page counts. To learn which pages people read and which sites send them here, the marketing site, Pioneer Pennant Charts, and the blog keep a daily count per page: the page, the website that linked to it (the site name only, never the full address), and a campaign tag if the link carried one. We store no cookie, no IP address, and no device details with these counts, so they cannot be traced to a person. Automated browsers and browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal are not counted.
2. How we use it
To run the Service: syncing your data across devices, computing statistics, rendering live game views to the people you share with, generating reports, and emailing you sign-in links and reports you request. AI-written summaries (development notes) are generated by sending the relevant statistics from your account to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing; that data is used to produce your summary, not to train advertising profiles. Opponent scouting reads are computed on our own servers and are not sent to an AI provider.
3. Who can see charted data
Your data is visible to your account and to accounts you explicitly link for sharing (for example, a scouting share between coaches, or a live game view). Live game broadcasts are visible only to linked accounts and expire from the live system within hours. We do not make athlete data public.
4. Children
Accounts are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13; athlete information in the Service is entered and controlled by adult coaches and parents, who are responsible for having appropriate consent under their team's and league's rules. A parent or guardian who wants an athlete's information corrected or deleted can email us and we will honor it promptly.
5. Schools
For school programs, we are glad to sign a student data privacy agreement (including SDPC-style agreements) and to put in writing what this policy already says: the program's data belongs to the program, we act only as its service provider, and we delete on request. Email us to start that paperwork.
6. Where data lives and how it's protected
Data is hosted on Google Cloud Platform in the United States, served over HTTPS, with access limited to authenticated accounts and to Pioneer for operating the Service. Payment data lives with Stripe. Email is delivered via Google. These providers act as our processors; none of them may use your data for their own purposes.
7. Retention, export, deletion
We keep your data while your account is active so seasons accumulate; that continuity is the product. You can export CSV at any time. Email us to delete your account and its data; deletion covers our live systems, with routine backups aging out on a schedule. Live-game broadcast copies expire automatically within hours.
8. Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, we will note it in the app or by email. Questions, corrections, deletion requests, or school paperwork:[email protected]. Pioneer Data Analytics, LLC, Ohio, USA.
