Ask about her fit the way you'd ask a friend who knows every program
Pioneer Pennant Process works inside Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. Connect it once, then ask in plain English. This guide shows each thing it can do, gives you prompts to copy, and ends with ways to pair it with the other apps you've connected.
Connect it once
About two minutes, from a parent's login.
Pick your app
Find where it adds a connection. The three are below.
Paste the address
Use the family address to work from your own account.
Sign in and press Allow
A Pioneer Pennant page opens and lists what the app can read and what it never gets. Check the recruiting-log box only if you want it to log events and edit the Top Ten.
Claude
Any plan. The free plan allows one custom connector.
Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
ChatGPT
On the web. This works on Plus.
Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, press Add, then Add custom MCP server. Paste the address as the Server URL and leave Authentication on OAuth.
Gemini
A personal Google account, 18 or older, in the US, with Keep Activity on.
At gemini.google.com: Settings, then Connected Apps, then Add a custom app.
Family address. Works from your own account.

What it sees, and what stays home
The sign-in page shows this same list before you press Allow.
It can read
- Her profile: academics, intended majors, what fits her, positions, stats, and her own-words answers
- The fit report, with every score and its reasons
- Her Top Ten and her upcoming schedule
- Her private recruiting log
- Every school page: staff contacts, camps, questionnaires, and the roster outlook
It never gets
- Her last name or birth date
- Her phone, email, or social handles
- Jersey numbers and photos
- Her coaches' contact details
- Her NCAA ID
It can change, only if you check the box
- Add an event to the recruiting log
- Add, remove, or reorder schools on the Top Ten
- It can never edit or delete a log entry. Do that on the site.
The parts, and what to ask each one
Each card is something you can ask for. The small gray name is the tool your AI app uses, in case you see it on screen. Press Copy and paste the prompt into your AI app.
Any school
No account neededWorks for anyone, with or without an account. Paste the public address and ask.
Look up a school
Division, conference, location, size, setting, admissions, test policy, tuition, average net price after aid, retention, graduation rate, pay after college, and top majors. The numbers come from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard and the NCAA.
Browse a division or conference
The conferences in a division with school counts, or the schools in one conference.
Find schools by major
Schools that offer a bachelor's degree in what she wants to study, with graduates per year and median pay five years out. Common words work: nursing, exercise science, pre-med.
See coaching changes
Head coach listing changes, checked weekly on every program's own staff page.
Good to know. It reports what a staff page lists. That is different from a confirmed hire or firing.
Ask what this is
A plain description of Pioneer Pennant Process and how a family connects an account.
Your athlete
Family accountFrom here down, the answers come from your own account.
See what it knows
The athletes on your account and the profile it works from.
Good to know. One account holds up to three athletes. Name the one you mean, or it uses the first.
Read the fit report
Every D1 and D2 program scored against her profile, best first, with the reasons for each score. Filters narrow the list without changing any score: division, state, miles from home, size, setting, public or private, faith-based, HBCU, net price after aid, and how the lineup scores.
Good to know. The rule the scores live by: go where she is going to play. When a dream school ranks low, the AI is told to say so.
Check one school
One school scored against her: its rank among all D1 and D2 programs, the reasons, whether it offers her major, and where it sits on her Top Ten and her log.
Work the Top Ten
Changes things: needs the box checkedThe schools she would say yes to tomorrow, in order. Ask how the list holds up against the data, then add, remove, or move a school.
Good to know. Ten schools at most. Reading the list works on any connection; changing it needs the box checked at sign-in.
Finding schools
Family accountThe whole database, with every filter the site has.
Run the full finder
All 978 programs, filtered by division, region, state, major, setting, size, public or private, faith-based, HBCU, net price after aid, admissions, graduation rate, and how the lineup scores. Sort by price, size, graduation rate, or admit rate.
Open a school's full page
The public facts plus the head coach and staff with contacts, the program's social accounts, camp and questionnaire links, the roster outlook by position and class year, and how the lineup scores.
Good to know. The roster outlook counts who is projected to still be there. It is a reason to ask a coach, not a promise of a spot.
The recruiting log
Family accountHer private record of every contact. Nobody outside your account sees it.
Read the log
Camps, emails, replies, calls, visits, offers, and questionnaires, newest first. It also shows which schools are warm, any coach change since her last contact, and who still owes her a reply.
Add to the log
Changes things: needs the box checkedTell it what happened and it adds one entry: a camp she attended, a camp their staff worked, a camp invite, a social follow, a coach who watched her play, an email she sent, a coach's reply, a call or text, feedback, a campus visit, an offer, or a questionnaire she filled out.
Good to know. It logs only what already happened, so a future date is refused. The same event is never logged twice.
Questionnaires
Family accountHow she gets into a program's recruiting database.
Find the forms
Links to programs' recruiting questionnaires by state, division, or her Top Ten, leaving off the ones she already filled out. A questionnaire is free, she starts it, and it is fine at any age.
Good to know. She fills each form in herself on the school's site. The AI is told not to ask for her birth date, contact details, or NCAA ID.
Coach emails
Family accountA scaffold she finishes. The words that matter stay hers.
Build a scaffold
An email from her to a coach, started for her: the contact rule for her grad year, a subject line, what each paragraph should do, and a draft with her facts filled in and a blank wherever her own words go. Five kinds: introduce yourself, share your schedule, ask about camps, thank a coach, and follow up.
Good to know. Coaches can tell a template, and an AI, a mile away. A plain, true sentence beats a polished generic one.
What an answer looks like
Jordan is made up: class of 2027, shortstop and second base, from Ohio, wants nursing. The answer is real output, run in ChatGPT on October 7, 2026.
| Her list | School | Fit score | Rank of 581 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ashland University | 94 | 1 |
| 2 | University of Findlay | 80 | 55 |
| 3 | Grand Valley State University | 88 | 14 |
What it said next: her number 2 is the data's number 55. That doesn't mean it comes off her list. It means other schools may match her major, cost, distance, and roster picture better, and it offered to show them.

Pair it with your other plugins
Your AI app can use more than one connection in the same conversation. Pioneer Pennant Process brings the schools and her recruiting picture. Your other plugins bring your calendar, your inbox, and your documents. Claude calls them connectors, ChatGPT calls them plugins, and Gemini calls them connected apps. Each idea below needs that other app connected first, and what it can do varies by app.
Follow-ups that don't slip
The log knows who owes her a reply. Your calendar knows when you'll have ten minutes.
Needs a calendar plugin, such as Google Calendar or Outlook.
Her schedule on the family calendar
Her upcoming schedule is already in her profile.
Needs a calendar plugin.
The scaffold, waiting in her drafts
The scaffold lands where she writes. She fills in her parts and presses send.
Needs an email plugin, such as Gmail or Outlook. It saves a draft; it does not send.
Catch what never got logged
Coach emails pile up in an inbox. The log only helps if they're in it.
Needs an email plugin, plus the recruiting-log box checked.
One sheet for the whole list
Everything you'd build by hand across twenty tabs, in one table you can sort.
Needs a spreadsheet or drive plugin, such as Google Drive.
A visit binder
One page per school, ready before you leave the driveway.
Needs a documents plugin, such as Google Drive or Notion.
A two-day visit loop
Process already knows how far each school is from home.
Works best with a maps plugin. Without one, your AI app will estimate the drives.
This week's three things
The weekly check-in ends with three things to do. Put them where you'll see them.
Needs a tasks or notes plugin, such as Todoist or Notion.
Four years in real dollars
Net price after aid, times four, next to what you've saved.
Needs a spreadsheet plugin. Net price after aid is each school's average; your number comes from the school's own aid offer.
A one-page handout for the family meeting
Grandparents and coaches don't want a spreadsheet.
Needs a design plugin, such as Canva.
Sunday night, on its own
Some AI apps can run a prompt on a schedule.
Only in apps that offer scheduled prompts. Check yours.
One thing to weigh. Pioneer Pennant Process keeps her contact details and NCAA ID out of your AI app no matter what you connect. Your other plugins are a separate choice: connect your inbox, and your AI app can read your inbox. Connect what you're comfortable with, and leave the recruiting-log box unchecked if you want Process to stay read-only.
How to ask well
What it won't do
These are built in. No prompt changes them.
