Find the right degree
The other half of the decision: every major, by category, with what it pays five years out, school by school.
Steps
- Open The Process menu, then Find a degree, and pick a category or search a major by name.
- Each major lists the schools that graduate students in it, with the number of graduates a year and the median pay five years after graduation from the College Scorecard.
- Filter by division or state to see which softball schools offer it.
- Open a school to see that major next to the softball program, the cost, and the outcomes.
What good looks like
A shortlist of schools where the degree is real (dozens of graduates a year, not two) and the pay is known, before anyone falls in love with a logo.
Mistakes we see
- Assuming a school offers the major because it is a big school. Some do not; the list is built from actual graduates.
- Ignoring the graduates-per-year number. A program with three graduates a year is a program that might not be there in four years.
